Fruit and Veg Bingo

Fruit and Veg Bingo

Like any child I know, I respond to 2 things. Lollies and prizes. So when it came to getting my kids to eat their fruit and veggies, I knew I had to get a little creative and a whole lot competitive.

It's not just about getting them to eat well but also to try and make it fun, and actually something they may even (gasp!) look forward to.So I went all Nintendo on it and gamified it!

Here's how it goes.
Each night, the kids (there's 2 of them) take turns picking their favourite board game.
Little man loves Operation (age 7) and little lady (age 5) likes Snakes and Ladders, but it doesn’t really matter.
With a bit of creative thinking, the principle can be applied to almost any game.

Step 1: Get a stack of cut up fruit and veggies ready to go
Step 2: Pick a board game - we'll take Snakes and Ladders as the example.
Step 3: Each child has a turn to throw the dice and move their token
Step 4: Each time a token is moved, the child has to have that number of bites from their veggies.
Step 5: The winning child gets the glory (lots of healthy goodness) and then has the other child make their lunch for the next day!

It's a win win!!
